anybody know of a book that can improve an individual's inking skills?
I can draw ok, but the colours are a real problem.
Answer:
-Colouring and inking are two different things. Which are you talking
about?
Inking is (pardon me) "tracing" over penciled artwork with black ink
to enhance the linework and make it ready for printing.
Colouring, obviously, involves putting colour on (usually copies of)
the original black and white artwork.
-I think one of the better books about inking is Gary Martin's "The Art of

-I'm a little confused what you mean by your question. In the context of
comicbook art, "inking" doesn't involve colors. The inker is the person who
goes over the penciled artwork with black ink (using a pen or pointed
brush), giving the lines the proper weight, and often adding the final
details to it. The colors are usually added digitally (or in some cases
painted); the only ink involved is that used when the books are finally
printed.
