Question:
Do any of you know anything about old-timey collectible comics? I
happened up on a teeny tiny mini-comic from a series called "Thrilling
Stories" and I'm having a hell of a time finding anyone online who
will help me ID it or anything. The only thing I found online was
this series. The one I have is from this series but it's not one of
the 18 listed.

Answer:
I was actually waiting for someone more comicky than I to answer; my
Overstreets are two feet to my left, but they're on the other side of the
shelves. ...and I don't _see_ a Thrilling Stories comic in them. ...And from
examining the start of the history in them - the _first_ "comic books" as
such are from 1933 (Funnies on Parade), and December 1936 was the first
comic book that _wasn't_ a collection of reprinted newspaper comics, Detective
Picture Stories (Detective _Comics_ wasn't until 1937, and Action Comics #1
wasn't until 1938).
That, plus a closer examination of the "lot image" for these 8 books and
rereading of the description, leads me to believe that these were not comics
with pictures, but rather actual text booklets with illustrations included?
"Story booklets"? (Supporting evidence for this view is that NONE of the
'series titles' - Mirtho the Clown, Operator 7, Flash Brown the Super
Scientist, and Reckless Steel the Soldier of Fortune - appear in Overstreet's
listings either.) Also, Wikipedia comes up with a "Thrilling Wonder Stories"
and a "Thrilling Publications", but neither one seems to have anything to do
with a "Thrilling Stories" as such, though both were operating in the '30s.
Thus, I think you may have been inquiring in the wrong places - rather than
asking the comics collectors, you may want to check with _magazine_
collectors and/or _book_ collectors? These don't seem to fall under what I
know of "old-timey collectible comics" as such.
