d.c. comic shops?

Question:
i'm going to be in the alexandria, va/d.c. area for a while and am therefore looking for a good shop for alternative comics. some of my favorite shops are million year picnic, meltdown, lambiek, phantom of the attic in pittsburgh and crypt o comix in albany. is there such a place in the d.c. area?

Answer:
The best place in the DC area for alternative comics, bar none, is Big Planet Comics in Vienna, VA. Really, really good selection--based on the other stores you like, I think you're going to love it. (The owner and manager, Greg Bennett, is one of the head honchos of the Small Press Expo, so you know he loves the stuff.)
Their phone number is 703-242-9412, and they're at 426 Maple Avenue East. There's also a website (which is more geared towards the Bethesda MD location, but has info about the Vienna store as well) at http://www.bigplanetcomics.com
